The Red Dragon HEMA Gloves are good entry-level padded gloves. They provide enough protection for beginners to start studying disciplines such as longsword, staff or sword and buckler, and are designed with synthetic weapons in mind.
They do not provide enough protection for high intensity steel sparring, and should not be treated as high-end gloves; they are designed for beginners, and they are good for providing light protection for gentle work.
Whether you use them for working with synthetics or with steel, we recommend you buy a set of fingertip protectors to go inside these gloves to ensure that your fingers remain safe.
Generally speaking, most men will fit 13″ gloves, and most ladies will be able to fit 12″ gloves.
