Existing injuries or medical conditions

If you have any existing injuries or medical conditions then you should probably see a medical professional before undertaking some new exercise like this. Working with Indian clubs can be very beneficial, but the movements could also exacerbate any existing conditions, so you should take the appropriate care and seek any any appropriate professional advice before getting started.

Experiencing pain during the exercises

There are two types of pain you might experience while doing exercise like this:

  1. delayed onset muscle soreness, which is the feeling of aching stiffness after doing a workout. This is not really a problem and is usually just a sign that you have worked yourself in a way that your body is not used to working. Allow the sore muscles to rest for a day or so, maybe take a hot bath or visit a sauna, and it will go away after a couple of days.
  2. any other kind of pain, which is probably a sign that something is either going wrong or has already gone wrong. This is a problem and you should stop the exercise immediately so that you do not make it any worse. Consult a medical professional if appropriate.

Using your Indian clubs should be a fun and healthy way to improve your body – and it is important to know when to stop so that you do not cause yourself any injuries.

Look after yourself!
