GUHS is the University of Glasgow’s resident HEMA society, focussing primarily on German longsword and messer, with occasional tutoring in dagger fighting, grappling, singlestick/sabre, and sword & buckler. We’re open to students and non-students alike, and we always welcome new members, regardless of experience. During the year, we hold regular training and sparring sessions, social events, a beginner’s tournament, and occasional fechtschule-style games nights (plus a healthy number of pub visits). We also maintain links to a few other HEMA clubs in Glasgow and the UK generally, so if you’re new in town or looking to get involved in HEMA, come down and give us a shout!
