Description
This hardened overlay with back of head protection is a great combination of padding and protection for the top and sides of the head, protecting the mask against wear and tear, and also including protection for the back of the head and neck.
The overlay is made of hard plastic with padding beneath it. The shell is hard plastic, with a separate rotating plate to cover the back of head. This overlay gives very high level of protection against attacks to the head, while also having the added benefit of allowing impacts to slide off, making it one of the safest fencing overlays available.
The overlay fits onto the fencing mask and stays in place with an elastic belt below the chin of the mask. A belt with hard wearing plastic buckle on the back of the overlay allows it to be removed easily from the mask, and also keeps the back of head protection close to the head to minimise the risk of an accidental hit.
There are a range of sizes available, which should be matched to the size of mask of the wearer – please check the vertical circumference of the rubber or fabric band around the face of the fencing mask the overlay will be fitted to, and consult the table below. The elastic belt ensuring a good fit on the vast majority of masks. Fencing mask not included.
