Description
This leather overlay with back of head protection is a great combination of padding and protection for the all angles of the head and throat, with an extra layer over the bib of the mask providing reinforcement to the neck and collarbones.
The overlay is made of strong leather with padding beneath it. The back of head protection is made from 1cm thick plastic foam and two overlapping plastic plates. In addition there is a solid plastic plate in the bib to provide hard protection from thrusts and cuts to the neck. There are no gaps between plastic plates to weaken the construction.
The overlay fits onto the fencing mask and stays in place with an internal Velcro belt which attaches to the backplate of the mask. A large Velcro belt on the back of the overlay allows it to be removed easily from the mask, and also keeps the back of head protection close to the head to minimise the risk of an accidental hit.
The Trinity overlay comes in different sizes, listed below. It is recommended to measure the outside circumference of the reinforcing band of your fencing mask to find what size of Trinity will fit best. Mask not included.
